This TOTALLY happens with me because of stress and also in my elbows, back, and shins. It's horribly annoying and I also sometimes draw blood. :-(

I'm glad the worse seems to be over and I hope your skin heals soon.

L, I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one! I mean, I'm not glad that you suffer this weird stress skin reaction, but I had never heard of it. But now I know that at least it's normal-ish.

I've taken to keeping the hydrocortisone cream I usually reserve for mosquito season on my bedside table for precisely this kind of itching. It never occurred to me that it could be stress-related, but you may be right.
