WhatNow, for what it's worth: spouse had a bad case of plantar's fasciitis and got custom orthotics, etc. What actually cured him was going to a very good massage therapist (medical referral) who realigned muscles in his lower back that were causing the problem. After about 3 sessions, which helped him to retrain the muscles, the fasciitis was gone. This was 10 years ago. YMMV, of course, but it may be worth a try for you.

Undine, I heard something similar from a colleague, who got deep tissue massage on his hamstrings and glutes, which worked wonders for his feet.
