September 03, 2011

I've been looking hopefully at the bottom of the (alphabetical) list in my Google Reader, knowing that you were in your first week of classes but most likely too busy to post. And then there is was! (I saved it to read last.) Glad to hear that the year is under way, and with such hopeful signs. This is the first year since I've started that we don't have a new departmental colleague, and it's frankly a bit of a relief. Two of my colleagues have recently bought houses, and a third just got married to a guy with a job that's very specific to this location, so we're looking a little more settled overall.

My sections this year are 16, 17 and 19, all freshmen--should be an exciting year here! This is also a year where we are transitioning to a new head of the upper school, not to mention the recent hurriquake nonsense. Suffice it to say, I'm feeling....shall we say....unsettled about the impending year, which officially starts Wednesday when the students return!
