You are more generous than I am -- at least in my mind. I have grown more to think that some of my colleagues (blessedly few!) lack the requisite shame to understand or care what they are doing. My own sanity-saving measure is to think of them as mosquitoes: annoying as hell, and occasionally needing to be swatted if they affect me directly, but mostly not worth the fruitless effort of chasing them.
