... and am thus being punished by being department head during a particularly harried year.
- Having finally gotten one colleague good and married in December, I learned yesterday that another colleague has just gotten engaged and will be planning her wedding all spring. I'm very happy for both of them, but it is a truth universally acknowledged that women intent on having nice big weddings with poofy white dresses and all the works who are pulling off these weddings in only six months (in each case) tend to be rather less focused on their day jobs.
- Another colleague just got empaneled on a jury for a civil trial that's supposed to last up to three weeks. Who's going to cover her classes during that time? Well, I guess that my administrator and I have a whole day to figure that one out.
- Oh, and Co-Author got bitchy to me again in a department meeting yesterday. But that's such same-old-same-old that it's not even worth mentioning. But the wedding and the jury duty? Yeah, worth mentioning!
