It's the little things ...
Today one of the buildings & grounds folks at Fabulous Girls' School moved my clock to the opposite wall of my classroom. Now I, rather than my students, can easily look at the clock during class, unlike the previous set-up in which my students gazed at time's passing while I had to crane my neck to see it. What a difference! This one change will do more for my teaching than anything else I can think of.
Plus, going jesus is gracing us with her second Cavalcade of Bad Nativities, a glorious collection of Christmas schmaltz with commentary guaranteed to bring a chuckle. (Okay, it's often a horrified chuckle -- "I can't believe someone is actually marketing this!" -- but funny nonetheless.) This year's Cavalcade has just gotten started and already features a leprechaun nativity (with the added comment: "King Herod's always after me lucky charms")! I highly recommend your heading over there right now and checking back regularly, no matter your religious proclivities. While you're at it, check out last year's edition as well, not to mention her collection Angels We Have Heard Are High.

My mother owns one of those. Seriously. I'm not saying which one, but it's the one I find least objectionable ...
